Stress Management
In the fall of 1990, Paul Shearstone became stricken with a relatively new and
misunderstood disease, the Epstein Barr virus. It resulted in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, more commonly
known as The Yuppie Flu - a disease brought on by stress from which most people seldom fully recover.
A straight-commissioned salesman in a single-income family with no short-term disability
benefits, Paul struggled for nine months with this debilitating illness that forced him to sleep 24
to 48 hours at a time and at one point, to be bedridden for a 6-week stretch.
Throughout his ordeal, Paul found new ways to minimize stress, stay undauntedly self-motivated and
more importantly, he became acutely aware of how precious one's energy is and its correlation to
time-management, goals and success.
Paul did conquer the disease and today, a keynote speaker, motivator and sales trainer, he
enlightens audiences on the secrets to his energy-management techniques - now proven to control
personal stress.
It should also be noted that in 1990, in spite of his condition, he was still the #1 Salesman in
Canada for his fortune 500 company… He reveals the secrets to that as well!
