Diversity | Red Hawk Speaks | Stay In Your Garden | The Civil War | Chief Red Hawk has reached the top of two very different worlds. As a Native American Indian he has adapted to a constantly changing environment, making him one of the most powerful motivational speakers to take the platform in a very long time. All of Red Hawk’s presentations are specific to his audience, driven by the needs and challenges they face. As part of his commitment to speak, he requires access to at least two, preferably three members of the organization who can help him understand not only what they are all about, but exactly what they hope to accomplish in their upcoming meeting. Red Hawk believes it is imperative for him to see things the way his audience sees them, and in that way, they will connect and lives will be positively affected. While Red Hawk’s core messages remain true to those concepts he has experienced profoundly in his life, the stories, the humor, and the music might vary to suit the organization's needs. Red Hawk will reach your audience by giving them the tools they need to thrive in an ever-changing workplace. Not only will Red Hawk's presence turn your meeting into a marquee event, but you can also expect these immediate results:
As a native American Indian with a historical heritage of over 500 years and an intimate understanding of cultural differences and communications, Chief Red Hawk is unique in his ability to use ancient stories to motivate and teach powerful methods for understanding and appreciating cultural diversity. Building on personal life experiences and models developed for Alexander Consulting & Training, Inc. (diversity training specialists for over 25 years) and Dr. Gary Weaver (American University, Washington, D.C.), Red Hawk has created a message for our time, focused on the pressing issue of cultural diversity. There are no more potent lessons on diversity training than those that Chief Red Hawk teaches! In this popular presentation filled with humor, personal stories, and music, Red Hawk moves his audience to challenge their fears of the unknown. One of the most captivating and moving aspects of Red Hawk's presentation is his finale, when he tells the stories of his ancestors through music and song from the new album, "Windtamer." His music is strong, passionate, and memorable. Red Hawk's love of laughter is another reason he communicates directly to the heart and soul of anyone listening. His humorous personal anecdotes tie Red Hawk's high-value messages together in an entertaining way while planting the seeds of hope, belief, and encouragement. Red Hawk lightheartedly draws from his own experiences as a Native American growing up in two different worlds, which at times can be both captivating and cruel. Lovable and enlightening, funny and instantly likable, Red Hawk brings to the platform a powerful and charismatic stage presence. He breathes life into stagnant hopes and dreams with his contagious belief in what his elders have taught him: "We are all related." Learning to stay in your garden: "While working on a keynote speech, I remembered a story a man told about working in his garden one day. He glanced over the fence at his neighbor, a lovely elderly woman, who was tending her own garden. It was a particularly beautiful one filled with brightly colored flowers and a variety of plants. He was compelled to ask the little old lady, 'How do you do it? How do you keep your garden so beautiful?' She replied, 'I visit my garden every day, even when I don't feel like it. I watch for problems early so that I can correct them before they get out of hand. This way, I stay on top of things.' "Then it hit me; do we take the time to tend our own gardens of life? Do we head off problems before they become overwhelming? Do we ask our co-workers, our families, our friends, 'How are you doing today?' Are there any weeds in our lives that need pulling?" This is a powerful message for our time that not only motivates, but also instills within us a sense that we truly are the gardeners of each other's lives. Whether in the workplace or the home, understanding cultural and cross-cultural meanings is like pruning our gardens of understanding. We can learn to pull out those paradigms dealing with the way we think, see, and understand one another. Native Americans during the Civil War: This is a specialty topic dealing with our Native people during the Civil War. The Civil War touched many lives both in the North and the South, but none more than the twenty-some thousand American Indians who left their homes for the battlefields of the Civil War. They had hoped that by participating in the fight they might bring some benefit to their people. However, the years of 1861 - 1865 proved to be yet another sad chapter in the tragic history of the Indians since the European colonization. Join Chief Red Hawk on a magical and difficult journey as he relates the history and stories of the Native people during one of the most troublesome times in our country's history - the Civil War! This program is a must for anyone who wishes to understand the Native culture, how and why the Native people think the way they do, or to broaden your historical knowledge. |
