Owner and Director of the Atlantic Speakers Bureau, Allen Phillips, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree and a Canadian Securities Council Certificate. Backed by over 30 years of business experience and his education Allen started the Atlantic Speakers Bureau in 1985. At the age of 22, Allen set up and managed an Auto Dealership as a graduate fresh out of the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. These 7 months represent the only time that Allen was not self-employed. Since this time Allen has co-owned, operated, and managed: a Victorian Country Inn, a Restaurant and Lounge, a Take-Out, a Bakery, a Sam the Record Man, a Construction Company, as well as a Training and Consulting Firm. Allen has published over 40 articles in various business publications on topics such as attitude, customer service, stress, tourism, hospitality and supervision. He has also written and published a Bar Tenders Recipes Manual based on Canadian Standard drink recipes and is an active public speaker himself. Allen remains active in his community and has served on Boards of Trade, Kiwanis, and various church boards as well as various not for profit committees and political organizations. Allen was appointed by the Minister of Health for the Province of New Brunswick to sit on the Board of Directors of the Region Health Authority 2 until 2010. Allen acts as a volunteer youth mentor assisting youth with life & school issues. Allen built the Atlantic Speakers Bureau around the belief that content and speaker expertise is more important than theatrics. It is for this reason that the Atlantic Speakers Bureau has come to be known as the “cerebral bureau”. Like all of his previous business ventures, Allen maintains strict requirements for quality, value, customer service and, most importantly, customer satisfaction. |
